Meet Mavi,
a Brazilian author born and raised in São Paulo. From an early age, she found herself lost in stories, sometimes within the pages of books, other times in the worlds she imagined.
At seventeen, she moved abroad to study at Babson College, where she earned a business degree. After returning home, she struggled to find her true calling. Through it all, romantasy novels were her constant companions, fueling the spark that had been with her since childhood.
It wasn’t until 2020, during lockdown, that Mavi finally gave herself permission to craft her own story. In just 43 days, the first draft of Gifted was born, and she hasn’t stopped writing since.
Over the following years, she wrote three more installments of The Gifted Series, along with the first novel of a second series, which is still in the works. Now, after five years and many drafts, her debut novel Gifted is finally out in the world.
Mavi lives in São Paulo with her husband, daughter, and two cats. When she’s not writing, she enjoys cooking, crocheting, reading, and unwinding with everything from sci-fi and heartfelt romances to gloriously trashy reality TV.
